Yes — as a hydration mask it works: after each of my five uses my skin felt properly hydrated and plumper. No — it did not give me the dramatic glass-skin glow the hype promises. 4/5 at €17 for a four-pack.

Watch my review

So there I was, walking around a German village feeding horses over a fence, wearing a full hydrogel mask on my face, while the locals gave me the kind of look you usually reserve for someone talking to themselves on public transport. That’s the thing nobody tells you about these caviar PDRN masks — they’re not a “pop it on for ten minutes while you check emails” situation. This one asked for two to four hours, sometimes longer, and life does not politely pause for that. So I just… kept living. Horses included. 😂🐴🇩🇪

The quick verdict

I liked it. My skin felt properly hydrated and plumper afterwards, in that soft, bouncy way that makes you keep touching your own cheek like an idiot. But I didn’t get the dramatic glass-skin glow I’d built up in my head from all the hype. It’s a genuinely good hydration mask. It is not a miracle in a packet.

Woman face

Who it’s for

If your skin leans dry, dehydrated, or just looks tired and a bit flat — this is a solid pick. It’s also a nice one to reach for the night before something important, when you want your skin to look well-rested even if you’re not. If you’re chasing that intense, luminous glow effect as the main event though, manage your expectations a little.

How it held up in real use

Application was easy — it’s a two-piece hydrogel mask, one half for the top of your face, one for the bottom, and it stayed put well once I’d smoothed it on. No sliding down my chin, no fighting with it every few minutes, which is more than I can say for some sheet masks I’ve used.

The wear time is the real commitment here. I left mine on for a good few hours, and as it sat there it slowly went from opaque to almost see-through as my skin absorbed it — genuinely satisfying to watch, like a slow-motion party trick. Comfort-wise, it wasn’t a chore. It felt cool and soothing rather than heavy or gluey, so wandering around outside in it (horses and all) wasn’t as strange a sensory experience as it looked, even if it was a strange visual one for everyone else.

By the time I peeled it off, my skin felt noticeably softer, plumper and properly nourished. That “just drank a litre of water” feeling, but for your face. What I didn’t get was an immediate, obvious glow — the kind where you catch yourself in the mirror and do a double take. It was more of a quiet improvement than a loud one.

What’s not

Is it worth the money

For the hydration alone, yes — I’d use it again, especially before something like a dinner out or a day I want my skin to look calm and well cared for rather than dramatically glowing. But I wouldn’t buy it expecting the internet-famous glass-skin effect, because that’s not quite what I got. It’s a lovely, comfortable, genuinely nourishing mask that asks for patience and gives you softness and plumpness in return — just don’t go in expecting fireworks. Also, maybe don’t wear it around farm animals unless you’re prepared to have a very confusing conversation with a German villager about why your face is see-through.

Quick questions

How long do you leave the Biodance caviar PDRN mask on?
A good few hours — it asks for two to four, sometimes longer. It slowly turns from opaque to almost see-through as your skin absorbs it, and that is how you know it is done. This is not a ten-minutes-while-you-check-emails mask.
Does it give you glass skin?
Not for me. After five uses my skin felt properly hydrated, softer and plumper for the rest of the day, but I never got the dramatic, catch-yourself-in-the-mirror glow the hype promises. It is a quiet improvement, not a loud one.
Is it comfortable to wear for that long?
Yes. It is a two-piece hydrogel — one half for the top of your face, one for the bottom — and it stayed put without sliding down my chin. It feels cool and soothing rather than heavy or gluey.
Who is it for?
Skin that leans dry, dehydrated or just looks tired and flat, and the night before something important when you want to look well-rested. If your main goal is an intense luminous glow, manage your expectations.
How much does it cost per mask?
Roughly €4.25 each — I paid €17 for a four-pack. Fine for an occasional treat before a dinner out; not something I would reach for weekly without thinking about it.
