Makeup reviews, worn for weeks in real heat
Chanel, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, RMS — worn properly, for weeks, in 30 °C+, before any of it got a score. Whether it earns its price is the question every review answers.
I spent more than fifteen years in the European fashion industry, managing shows in London, Paris and Copenhagen, and those years taught me to notice quality and the small details that make the difference. Makeup is all details. A gloss that looks perfect at the counter can be gone by lunch; a bronzer that swatches beautifully can turn muddy once you’re in the sun. So nothing here was scored until it had been through ordinary days in Limassol heat.
Most of what I’ve tested sits at the luxury end, because that’s where “is it worth it?” actually needs answering. I won’t tell you a €42 gloss is a bargain; I’ll tell you whether it earns its price, and what it does badly. The Chanel gloss transfers onto cups and glasses. The Dior bronzer is too subtle if you love a sculpted contour. Those lines are the point of this site.
Only products I’ve used get a score, everything is labelled Tested or Researched, and the price on each review is what I actually paid. My skin is combination; if yours isn’t, the “Keep in mind” box on every review is where I say who a product won’t suit.

Before you buy
Do you only review luxury makeup?
No, but most of what I’ve tested so far is Chanel, Dior and Charlotte Tilbury, because those are the purchases people agonise over and where an honest “is it worth it?” helps most. When a cheaper product earns a place in my bag, it gets exactly the same test.
Does it hold up in heat?
That’s the whole point of testing here. Limassol summers sit above 30 °C for months, so “long-wearing” claims get found out fast — and if something didn’t last, the review says so.
Why is there no score on some products?
Because I only score what I’ve used. Everything is labelled Tested or Researched: Tested means weeks of real wear, Researched means it sits in a buying guide because people cross-shop it against something I have tested. A researched pick gets a score the day I actually wear it.
Which of these do you actually reach for?
The Chanel Rouge Coco Hydra Gloss is the only makeup I’ve scored 5/5 — the one thing to know is that it transfers onto cups and glasses. The Dior bronzer, the Charlotte Tilbury powder and the RMS luminizer each earned 4.5: excellent, with downsides each review spells out.
